Responsibility
Being responsible entails choosing to do the right thing wherever we are.
Safety Consciousness
We should avoid doing things which can endanger safety, either of others or indeed our own selves.
Disposing of Banana Peels
We must never throw banana peels on the floor as they are very slippery and can cause falls. If someone steps on a banana pill, he can fall. Such a fall can cause injury to parts of the person’s body. Death can ensue if some delicate parts of the body are injured. An example of a delicate part that can be injured when a person falls is the brain if the person hits his head on a hard surface.
We must always dispose of banana peels properly: either through a waste disposal means or a renewables channel such as will convert the banana peels for use in composting to fertilize the soil for the purpose of planting.
Promptly Drying Spilled Water
When water spills on the floor, it must be promptly dried as water like banana peels on the floor are also slippery and can cause falls.
Properly Handling Sharp Items
We must never throw sharp items such as pins, needles and nails on the floor or any other inappropriate place. They can pierce people's feet and cause injury. Such injuries can sometimes get infected by germs and lead to diseases such as tetanus.
Sharp objects can also pierce the tires of vehicles, causing them to go flat and therefore need repairs or replacement for a fee.
Whenever we see banana peels, plantain peels or any sharp objects on the floor around us, whenever possible, we should pick these up for placement in the correct places such as the composting sites, recycling collection points or waste bins.

There are some items which after they have been used once, can still be taken back to factories to be converted into brand new items. They include glass, plastic, paper and cans. Such items should not be disposed of with other household waste. They should be sent to companies which recycle them. This is good for the environment and contributes to a cleaner environment where our resources are more efficiently used.

On the other hand, certain waste products such as unfinished food can be reworked back into the soil to enhance its fertility. In our homes, this can enable us to maintain ornamental gardens or even vegetable gardens. Therefore, we should also separate such items from other household waste and instead consider composting. This is also better for our environment and helps us to be more efficient in the use of natural resources.
